Rodney E. Abney, Jr. Named Chief Operating Officer; Edmund Truty Appointed Chief Financial Officer
GF is pleased to announce two strategic leadership appointments that strengthen the firm’s executive team and support continued growth across all markets and regions.
Rodney E. Abney, Jr. has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President. In his new role, Abney will oversee firmwide operations, ensuring alignment across GF’s studios, disciplines, and regional offices. He will focus on operational excellence, resource strategy, and strengthening the firm’s ability to consistently deliver high-quality work across all markets.
Abney brings deep institutional knowledge and executive leadership experience to the role. Previously serving as Chief Financial Officer, he played a critical role in shaping GF’s financial strategy, supporting mergers and acquisitions, and providing strategic direction to firm-wide support teams. His transition to COO reflects the firm’s continued focus on operational scalability, cross-functional alignment, and long-term performance.
Edmund Truty has been appointed Chief Financial Officer, bringing more than 1820 years of experience at GF to the role. Truty has served as Controller and Director of Accounting, where he led the firm’s financial reporting, audit and tax oversight, internal controls, and financial operations for both domestic and international entities.
As CFO, Truty will lead GF’s financial strategy and stewardship, ensuring fiscal discipline, transparency, and alignment with the firm’s long-term business objectives. He plays a key role in mergers and acquisitions, ESOP and retirement plan administration, and financial governance, and has also provided leadership for the firm’s Human Resources function with a focus on compliance and organizational effectiveness.
“These appointments reflect the depth of talent within our organization and our commitment to thoughtful succession planning,” said Keith Johnston, CEO. “Rod’s operational leadership and Edmund’s financial expertise position GF for continued growth while maintaining the high standards our clients and teams expect.”
These leadership changes reinforce GF’s commitment to operational excellence, financial strength, and delivering exceptional value to clients across all markets.
