GreenbergFarrow (GF) commemorates five decades of design innovation with the opening of a 116,000-square-foot Home Depot on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, celebrating its first client and a legacy of excellence.
New York, NY — GF proudly announces the completion of its latest project, a 116,000-square-foot Home Depot store located at 410 East 61st Street and 1st Avenue in Manhattan. Spanning four floors, this state-of-the-art store underscores GF’s ongoing collaboration with its first client, The Home Depot, which continues to thrive as a valued partner five decades later.
This landmark store represents a significant addition to Home Depot’s New York presence. Following a 20-year lease agreement for the site, formerly home to Bed Bath & Beyond, the new Upper East Side location offers an extensive range of home improvement products, specialized services, and convenient features, such as online order pickup lockers catering to Manhattan residents’ needs.
“As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, it’s fitting that we mark this milestone with a project for The Home Depot, the client that started it all,” said Michael Leocata, Director of Architecture New York. “This location exemplifies our commitment to delivering bespoke, tailored solutions for urban retail environments, addressing both operational needs and community integration.”
This opening highlights GF’s legacy of designing impactful, high-performing spaces and reinforces its reputation as a leader in commercial architecture and planning. GF’s ongoing partnership with The Home Depot underscores a reputation synonymous with architectural and engineering excellence. With this milestone project, GF continues to build on its rich history of excellence while adapting to the evolving demands of modern retail.
Over the past 50 years, GF has grown to over 300 team members, expanding its services beyond architecture to include structural, MEP, and civil engineering, planning, landscape architecture, land surveying, interior design, and land development.
