Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan and established in 1934 as a supermarket chain. Most locations are primarily in the upper Mid-West, Meijer typically either develops new stand-alone prototype stores of 157,000 and 191,000 square-feet, or converts existing stores that range from 50,000 to 150,000 SF. The supercenter location usually includes a fuel center with a 2,600 SF convenience store in the development.
Since 2009, GreenbergFarrow has been supporting Meijer with architecture, engineering and development services, including site surveys, store planning, test-fits, due diligence, entitlements and permitting. GreenbergFarrow has been heavily involved with Meijer's projects in Illinois and Indiana, and was the lead consultant for their expansion into their fifth state, Wisconsin.
