500 East Bay

GF provided design services for 500 East Bay, a 290-bed off-site student housing development located in the historic heart of downtown Charleston. The project features a two-level parking deck, fitness center, leasing office, ground-level retail, and a rooftop pool and amenity area—all thoughtfully designed to complement the surrounding architectural context.

As part of the project, GF is also overseeing the restoration and relocation of the historic 77 Washington Street. Originally constructed in the 1850s and damaged by neglect and fire, the building will be carefully moved to a new site and restored to its original exterior character. The interior will be repurposed for retail use, serving as a coffee shop to support the student housing community.
