GF transformed Aflac’s office in Washington, DC, liberating the space from a previously dark and enclosed environment into a contemporary, flexible, and industrial-inspired workplace. The 5,536 SF office features exposed concrete floors, metal-and-glass office fronts, and a neutral palette of soft whites and grays accented with warm wood tones, complemented by Aflac’s corporate colors in a way that allows for future brand evolution.
The design balances public and private functions: a retractable glass wall in the reception and conference area allows for combined or separate configurations, supporting client events of varying sizes. Wood slat ceiling features and transparent partitions enhance visual and architectural connectivity, while daylight access is maximized throughout the office, creating a bright and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
