GF, in collaboration with Lambert Architecture, was selected to lead the additions and renovations for Airport High School after Lexington School District Two’s successful bond referendum. Following a comprehensive facilities assessment of the 269,000 SF campus, a master plan was developed. Key updates include enhancements to the auditorium, repurposing of vocational classrooms, and the addition of a new roofing system.
The project also significantly expands athletic facilities, with a new 9,000 SF field house to consolidate the school’s locker room spaces and a new press box for the football field. Additional improvements include a new baseball locker room, visitor’s locker room, and upgraded track and tennis courts. The total cost for the project is estimated at $12 million.
