BAE Systems

GF provided full interior architecture and stealth design services for BAE Systems’ six-floor corporate headquarters in Rockville, Maryland. The design aimed to create a more efficient, sustainable, and people-focused environment that would elevate the quality of work life and help attract and retain top talent.

The new workplace features a primarily open office layout with private offices for management, secure labs, and flexible conferencing spaces. Large break rooms serve as gathering hubs that foster collaboration across departments. GF utilized Building Information Modeling (BIM) throughout the design process, allowing the client to fully visualize and refine layouts, while enabling BAE Systems’ facilities management team to plan for long-term maintenance and operations.

The project achieved LEED® Silver certification, incorporating sustainable design strategies such as recycled rubber flooring, FSC-certified veneers, low-VOC finishes, LED lighting, and Energy Star-rated equipment. Over 90% of construction waste was diverted from landfills, and all regularly occupied spaces have access to daylight.

GF has since partnered with BAE Systems on additional office projects across the U.S., including Quantico, Dulles, Arlington, and Herndon, VA.
