GF renovated and reconfigured District Hardware’s new 8,500-SF location at the Wharf neighborhood, creating an engaging retail and experiential environment. The design optimized the floor plan and relocated walls and conduits to accommodate multiple uses within the space. Approximately half of the space serves as a hardware store, while the remainder houses a bike shop and the Velo Café, a small eatery featuring local coffee and beer. A bike repair shop is tucked beneath the mezzanine, with offices and support areas upstairs. The street-level café includes a serving window to support quick-service for on-the-go patrons.
