GF provided architecture and master planning services for the Fairfax Towne Center redevelopment in Fairfax, Virginia. The 23-acre retail property, located at the intersection of West Ox Road and Route 50, was envisioned as a modern, vibrant mixed-use destination.
The master plan reimagines the site with a balanced mix of retail and residential uses, enhanced parking, and pedestrian-friendly streetscapes that connect seamlessly to surrounding neighborhoods. Designed to complement nearby Fair Oaks Mall and Fairfax Corner, the new Fairfax Towne Center is positioned to serve as suburban Fairfax County’s new downtown—leveraging proximity to the planned Orange Line Metro extension to create a more accessible, transit-oriented community.
