Greenland Wuhan Tianhe International Convention and Exhibition Center

GF provided architectural design services for the Wuhan Tianhe International Convention and Exhibition Center, a landmark 15 million-SF development near Wuhan Tianhe Airport. The center combines innovative design, cultural symbolism, and functionality, positioning itself as a premier destination for exhibitions, conferences, and events.

The facility includes 26 exhibition halls, six lobby areas, and 322,917 SF of multifunctional outdoor exhibition grounds, supported by a multifunctional hall, premium office spaces, luxury hotels, and commercial zones. The architectural concept draws inspiration from Wuhan’s water culture, with roof and façade forms emulating flowing river waves. At night, the illuminated roof creates a glowing Milky Way effect, reinforcing Wuhan’s identity as “China’s river city.”

A “fishbone layout” optimizes pedestrian and vehicular circulation, while landscaped public spaces enhance the visitor experience. Sustainability is a key focus, with energy-efficient systems, green spaces, and drought-resistant landscaping. The center blends cultural heritage with forward-looking innovation, serving as a hub for global exhibitions, business forums, and large-scale cultural events.
