Horry County Central Coast Complex

GF provided architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and master planning services for the new 43,000 SF Horry County Central Coast Complex in South Carolina. Developed to support the County’s growing service needs, the new facility provides residents in the Central Coast area with greater access to essential county services.

The project was developed following a comprehensive assessment of Horry County’s future programmatic and operational needs. GF conducted multiple site feasibility studies to evaluate potential locations and determine the requirements for the new facility, ultimately guiding the decision to develop a new complex rather than renovate or expand the existing Olin Building. A conceptual floor plan established space allocations, adjacencies, and internal functions to support efficient operations. The facility will house three courtrooms, a police station, Clerk of Court’s office, Tax Appraiser’s office, and Tax Assessor’s office.

GF’s integrated design approach responds to the County’s long-term needs while creating an efficient and accessible environment for public services. Throughout the project, GF maintained the established schedule and met key deadlines, helping streamline the process from initial studies through the development of the new facility. The Central Coast Complex will provide a modern, centralized destination for essential county services while supporting Horry County’s continued growth.
