Inter-American Development Bank

GF provided interior architecture and design services for the Inter-American Development Bank’s Washington, DC headquarters, including the renovation of the Antonio Ortiz-Mena Board Room and a complete redesign of the Finance Group offices.

The 4,000-SF, two-story boardroom integrates state-of-the-art technology within a sophisticated architectural setting, featuring a custom conference table accommodating 23 primary participants and personal consoles for an additional 100 attendees. Custom “skylight” fixtures simulate natural daylight, adjusting in intensity throughout the day to create a sense of connection to the outdoors despite the interior location.

For the Finance Group, GF reimagined the space into a nearly 100% open office environment, a major cultural shift for the organization, which traditionally relied on private offices. Through extensive operational studies, GF developed a layout that balanced openness and collaboration while maintaining functional efficiency for this high-performance financial team.
