GF provided interior design services for IONE MixC, a modern retail destination in the heart of Wuxi that strengthens China Resources’ prestigious MixC portfolio. This contemporary urban mall integrates spatial elegance with transit-oriented planning, and intentional placemaking.
The interior design approach focused on its emphasis on intuitive navigation, distinctive visual identity, and material richness. Inspired by natural geometry, triangular ceiling lights guide movement across the retail zones, creating visual cohesion while enhancing user orientation.
A key feature of the development is the direct pedestrian bridge connecting the mall to the metro station, which supports high foot traffic and promotes a lifestyle centered on public transit. The interior layout ensures smooth transitions from transit entry points to the central plaza and major tenants, using clear sightlines and visual markers to enhance flow and accessibility. Public spaces such as corridors, façades, escalator lobbies, and lounges are unified by a refined palette of stone, wood, and bronze. These materials are complemented by layered lighting that highlights architectural details while maintaining comfort and visibility for visitors.
Vertical circulation is organized through paired escalators and grand staircases, marked by sculptural ceiling treatments and strong visual anchors that define key transition points. The design extends from entrances to food courts and communal lounges, offering a cohesive yet adaptable framework that balances tenant individuality with a premium overall identity.
With its inviting and thoughtfully designed spaces, iONE MixC serves as both a retail hub and a vibrant social destination, fostering connection, discovery, and community engagement.
