The renovation and expansion of McDonald Elementary School and Maryville Elementary School included new media center additions with open layouts designed to accommodate books, computers, seating, and student work/activity spaces. Sustainable elements, such as daylighting, enhance visual appeal while reducing costs and improving energy efficiency. The existing media centers were repurposed into classroom spaces.
At Maryville Elementary, an elevated garden was incorporated to address the site’s slope, offering occupants a natural vista through the large, curved picture window.
