GF, serving as a consultant to URS Corporation, provided space planning and interior design services for the United States Consulate compound in Mumbai. Based on the standard embassy design prototype, the new compound is uniquely shaped by its programmatic needs, tropical climate, and cultural context.
The 10-acre secure site includes five purpose-driven structures organized into zones of increasing privacy from east to west. The principal facility, the New Office Building, houses the Consul General’s offices, administrative units, and reception and meeting areas, creating a secure, efficient, and culturally responsive environment for diplomatic operations.
