GF provided architectural and landscape architectural services for the master planning and development of Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church in Georgetown County, South Carolina. The master plan addressed the church’s growing needs and included a new sanctuary parish hall, educational building, and rectory.
A key element of the project was the adaptive reuse and preservation of Ms. Ruby’s School, a historic building originally constructed in the 1930s with funding from Archer Huntington of Brookgreen Gardens. The design honors the legacy of the school while preparing it for continued community use.
As part of the effort, GF developed documentation for the building’s potential nomination to the National Register of Historic Places and the U.S. Department of the Interior, supporting the long-term cultural and historical preservation of the site. The project was recognized with a Merit Award from AIA South Carolina.
