A 92,000 SF stand-alone classroom building, the CAS, was constructed adjacent to West Ashley High School. The 3-story facility is based around an advanced technology curriculum with support from local industry partners. Students will gain hands-on training that will prepare them for technology-based careers. The CAS houses programs for Auto Technology, Mechatronics and Welding in high bay spaces. Additional programs include Media Technology, Biomedical and Health Sciences, Audiovisual Technology and Communications, Cybersecurity and Information Technology, and Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Pre-Engineering curriculum. Other features include a Media Center, Maker Labs, and various spaces for collaborative, project-based learning. GF was the Architect of Record and also provided Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, and Construction Administration services. Little Diversified was the Design Architect for the project.
