Retreat Park is part of the Georgetown County Parks Redevelopment Program. The park encompasses 94.5 acres, including 15 acres of protected wetlands. The master plan proposed three 300’ baseball fields, a 200’ softball field, a multipurpose field, playground and support structures. A shared-use facility, the park site also includes Waccamaw Middle School and Waccamaw Intermediate School and their supporting facilities. A system of interpretive trails and boardwalks within the park connects to the adjacent schools and the Bike the Neck trail system, also designed by GF.
