GF was hired to develop a creative and innovative preliminary site plan that defines Clemson University’s McGinty Mall, which consists of 4 acres located along a main pedestrian circulation artery on campus. Bordered by six academic buildings that house most of Clemson’s agricultural studies, collectively comprising the Agriculture Quadrangle, the design intent for McGinty Mall was to celebrate the identity of the agriculture studies housed within the surrounding buildings, as well as the creation of a major campus destination for all students, faculty and visitors. The new space will provide meeting and collaborative spaces, outdoor classrooms, places for quiet reflection, a farmers market, and food court.
