As Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President at GF, Rodney Abney oversees firmwide operations, ensuring alignment across the organization’s studios, disciplines, and regional offices. In this role, he focuses on operational excellence, resource allocation strategy, and strengthening GF’s ability to consistently deliver high-quality work across all markets.
Mr. Abney previously served as Chief Financial Officer, where he directed the organization’s financial strategy, overseeing accounting, audit, corporate finance, ESOP administration, and mergers and acquisitions. His eight-year tenure as CFO established a strong financial foundation that continues to inform his operational leadership and enterprise-wide decision-making.
Drawing on deep expertise in both international and domestic business operations, Mr. Abney is a key contributor to critical decisions related to investments, partnerships, and agreements. His collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with internal and external stakeholders delivers proactive, value-added outcomes across the organization.
In addition to his operational leadership, Mr. Abney provides strategic direction to firm-wide support teams, including Accounting, Human Resources, Business Development, Information Technology, and Marketing. His oversight across these functions fosters cross-functional alignment, operational discipline, and a results-driven culture.
Rodney Abney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University.
In his role on the Board of Directors, Mr. Abney brings operational and financial insight to board discussions, underscoring his commitment to effective governance, transparency, and long-term value creation.
