The redesign of Merchant’s Walk called for an aesthetic design that would the 33-year-old neighborhood center back to its origin as a central gathering place for the community, with a great mix of food, retail, and entertainment. GF provided planning, architecture, and engineering services for the project and created a vibrant, 362,000 SF retail hub that enhances the surrounding community.
Some improvements to the center included adding retail space, renewing facades, widening sidewalks, and installing decorative signage, planters, benches, green screens, enhanced landscaping, energy-efficient fixtures, and controlled lighting systems. In addition, GF improved the existing retailers’ storefronts (Stein Mart, PetSmart, Old Navy, Georgia Theatre, and Marlow’s Tavern).
GF brought renewed life to the center with the new aesthetic and the addition of a 45,000 SF Whole Foods Market as a new anchor tenant.
