The complete 28,000 SF renovation of Rutledge Rivers Residence Hall transformed an outdated dormitory into a renewed and vibrant living space for CofC students. GF created a design concept that maximizes bed count and optimizes social interaction in each unit by using smaller sleeping quarters and larger common areas. This renovated facility has been awarded LEED Silver Certification (the equivalent of 2 Green Globes). Notable improvements include structural reinforcement to provide renewed stability during seismic and high wind occurrences and a building envelope design to mitigate existing indoor air quality issues.
