Located just thirty minutes south of Charlotte’s Uptown, Fort Mill has exploded with rapid growth over the last three to five years in population, retail and home construction with young families as well as 25 to 38-year-olds serving as the largest demographic. Each respective demographic though is seeking the same thing – newly-constructed and affordable living with easy access to entertainment in Charlotte.

Fox Hunt Farms stands out among Fort Mill’s latest apartment communities with unique characteristics and amenities that compete with properties in the Charlotte metro area.  Foxhunt Farms is a three-story garden walk-up building with one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units as well as two-bedroom lofts. Fox Hunt Farms was designed with a modern renters’ happiness, well-being and comfort in mind.  Amenities include (but are not limited to) an Olympic-sized “bark park” and a custom zero-entry swimming pool, fitness center, outdoor kitchen, pet wash and rec center.

The property’s Clubhouse was built to be central not only to the community’s overall layout, but also to the way in which residents connect with one other. The building’s one-and-a-half story roof height was designed with the intent to give the scale and presence of a major focal point.

Fox Hunt Farms completion has been a long time coming. In 2009, the project went dormant; construction stalled in response to the economic downturn. Then, in 2014, it was revitalized when Weinstein Development Company (WDC) out of Amherst, New York took over the property’s ownership. WDC has completed thousands of properties across the country since the 1970s.

The project was completed in October 2017. The property has been renting successfully since completion – over 160 of the 276 units having been leased at that time. This project has been a strong demonstration as to what is possible when ownership and design team work to collectively achieve a goal. NWA, the property’s ownership and HK Jordan completed the project efficiently despite the property’s size, scale, and scope.

As NWA prepares to celebrate their firm’s 45th anniversary, Fox Hunt Farms is a good reminder of one of the architectural industry’s most classic truths – in a profession that’s constantly evolving and changing, NWA must continue to evolve and stay current.
