This highly complex project restructured the entire Goose Creek High School campus while providing much needed classroom space and a new building identity. Along with capacity relief and updated interiors, a focal promenade was created in order to connect the parking at the front of the school to the athletic facil-ities and fields. The new classroom wing features an outdoor quad which is contained, providing increased security for students. A phased plan that utilized “swing space” enabled the demolition of existing facilities to occur without the utilization of portable classrooms, resulting in a savings of over $800,000. All construction was completed while school was in session; our team provided egress and life safety plans to ensure students, faculty, staff and visitors were protected throughout the two-year construction process.
