Located in Shanghai, China, GF re-designed the façade of the historic Shanghai JC Mandarin Hotel. The conceptual driver of this adaptive-reuse development was to maintain the historic value of the 450,000 SF hotel tower and also give the design a modern aesthetic.
The hotel was converted into high-end office space with retail at the base. The GF team reconceived the JC Mandarin tower skin to better suit a high-end office environment and the 192,000 SF podium was designed to give the mall a dynamic, iconic presence on the busy W Nanjing Road. GF developed the design of the podium from concept through construction.
