An urban infill redevelopment, Morris Square occupies two city blocks in downtown Charleston. This mixed-use community features single family residential, multi-family residential, and commercial spaces, as well as parks and streetscapes. The design of the public spaces includes Simonton Park, a small urban pocket park, and a city piazza which is the focal point of the commercial spaces. This project also featured land swaps and the relocation and restoration of an early African-American praise house.
