GF provided architectural services for the Waccamaw Regional Recreation Center at Parkersville, a 26,000 SF community hub designed to serve the local population. The center features a full indoor basketball court and three half courts, which can be subdivided for individual play or tournament events. The gymnasium also includes shuffleboard, a walking track, two foursquare courts, three volleyball courts, and a climbing wall.
The facility offers 2,800 SF of space dedicated to cardio, weights, dance, and aerobics. Additionally, it provides meeting rooms and a prep kitchen, serving as the community senior center. Locker rooms, restrooms, concessions, and office space are also part of the facility. The Waccamaw Regional Recreation Center was designed as a prototype for Georgetown County parks.
