GF recently completed a renovation of the George Coleman Ford dealership in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, which has proudly served the community since the 1930s. This longstanding family-run business has been passed down through generations of the Coleman family.
Gregg Coleman, grandson of the dealership’s founder, George Coleman, partnered with GF to update the showroom and exterior façade to meet Ford’s current brand standards. A key design challenge was preserving the dealership’s iconic metal fin, an enduring symbol of the dealership’s identity.
In the first phase of the renovation, GF provided both architectural and interior design services. The design focused on blending innovation with the dealership’s storied heritage, incorporating an upgraded showroom, spacious waiting area, modernized restrooms, and new office spaces.
Additional features included the installation of a photo booth, state-of-the-art gym, enhanced interior detailing, and a dedicated conference room for employee meetings. Phase two of the project will focus on the construction of a new 20-bay maintenance facility and a revamped interior customer service center.
In partnership with Creative Builders Inc. of Greenville, SC, GF restored the George Coleman Ford dealership, ensuring its timeless character was preserved while infusing it with a contemporary edge.
