Gordon Street

GF successfully led the redevelopment of the Gordon Street Mixed-Use project in West Greenville, SC, transforming the historic Crown Zellerbach Mill site into a thriving, multifaceted community. The project now includes a blend of affordable housing and vital services for those in need.

The original 2-story red brick mill, built in the early 20th century, was repurposed into office spaces and shelter accommodations for Safe Harbor, an organization dedicated to supporting victims of domestic violence. Safe Harbor’s redeveloped space spans approximately 47,000 SF, providing shelter for over 90 residents.

In addition to the Safe Harbor facility, the site features a newly constructed, 145,000 SF, 4-story multifamily building with 116 residential units. The building offers affordable housing options and includes amenities such as a laundry room, mail room, fitness center, playground, picnic area with grills, and expansive outdoor lawn space for residents’ enjoyment.

The Gordon Street redevelopment successfully revitalizes a historically significant location, creating a safe and supportive environment for families while contributing to the ongoing transformation of West Greenville.
