GF designed The Home Depot’s second urban store in New York City, located beneath the new Bloomberg Media Headquarters on Third Avenue and 59th Street. A primary challenge was creating a visually striking entrance that clearly conveyed The Home Depot brand while drawing shoppers into the below-grade store. The final design features a “jewel box” entrance, illuminated in the chain’s signature orange. The three-level, below-grade store was carefully designed to maximize circulation, merchandising visibility, and overall customer experience in a constrained urban setting.
