Rollin Edwards Community Center

GF assisted the Town of Summerville by completing a feasibility study for the adaptive reuse of a former National Guard Armory as a multi-purpose recreation and event space. Program uses were developed through a series of public input meeting with key stakeholders and Town entities.

Also tasked with the facility’s design and renovation, GF took into consideration the input and comments received, assembling them to create the general scope and anticipated needs for the new facility. Building shell upgrades include structural revisions, and new plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and life safety systems.

Site improvements include the addition of a pavilion plaza for outdoor events, new parking and vehicular access, storm water measures, and new active and passive outdoor spaces. This dynamic facility offers a wide range of differing types of both interior and exterior event spaces for a diverse range of community uses.
